Junior Account Information
LASA has introduced Junior Accounts to help give the younger ones of the family learn the good habit of saving. Anyone up to the age of 18 can become a Junior member now as long as they live or go to school in Swansea. Tell all your friends it is a good way to save!
We will need to see your Birth Certificate and proof of where you live.
Junior account members are not eligible to apply for loans but as soon as they are 18 their account will automatically become an adult account.
We now have a new name for our Junior Accounts which we have recently through the hard work and dedication of our Financial Inclusion team have recently taken into a few Primary Schools over the past 12 months, there are also plans to set up more in schools throughout Swansea.
The B.I.F.I. Club (Nursery to Primary School) is part of LASA’s raising awareness of Financial Inclusion and we hope the young people in our schools and communities will learn the saving habit from an early age. The new B.I.F.I. bookmarks are for those over 5 who join and, as their savings grow, they will receive more gift incentives. The under 5’s will receive a Certificate congratulating them on their first step in saving for their futures.
The Growing Savers has been introduced in Comprehensive schools to ensure that the god savings habits learned through our club's in the early years are carried through into adulthood. In the later years of Comprehensive this club also starts to provide information on safe and sensible borrowing.
Members of The B.I.F.I. Club and Growing Savers have collection points at the following schools:-
Blaen-Y-Maes Primary School
Cadle Primary School
Clwyd Primary School
Dunvant Primary School
Portmead Primary School
St Josephs Primary School
